Operational Problems:
My screen is blank it is not W1 and I use a maple base or a PC with Infopro Emulation software connected to my ibm server via a twinax cable. What do I do?
Goto W1 session. Go into console mode. Check if any messages exist for your session number. If there is contact our help desk with the message details. The help desk will advise you what option to take in this case.
I would like to go into console mode. I use a maple base to connect to the AS/400. What do I do?
Press the left shift key and the system req key then press the enter key. The combination of these keys will allow you to go into console mode.
I use Client Access as the emulation program on my PC to access my AS/400. I use the Advanced 36 machine of the AS/400. One of my sessions are blank and showing disconnected on the status bar. What do I do?
Goto an AS/400 sign on screen and sign on with the main user ID and password and press the enter key. The AS/400 main menu will be displayed. Type WRKDEVD on the selection or command line and press the enter key. The screen displays the work with device description screen. Press the F14 key to display work with status screen. Find your session number. If the session number has active under the status column and a job number under the Job column then type a 5 next to the session number and press the enter key. This will display the work with job screen. Type 41 on the selection or command line and press the enter key. This will display the end job parameters. Type *IMMED on the how to end parameter and press the enter key. Press the F3 key twice to take you back to the main AS/400 menu. Goto W1 session. Go into console mode and answer the message displayed for your session. Contact the help desk to obtain advice on what option to take. Reconnect the session to display the sign on screen.
Printer Problems
I use client access as a printer session and my reports are not printing. What do I do?
See if any messages are waiting to be answered by signing onto the AS/400 system with User id QSECOFR and your password. Then type WRKWTR on the selection or command line then press the enter key. Identify your printer and see if the printer has MSGW under the status column. If MSGW is under the status column then answer the message where appropriate and this should start the reports printing.
I use mocha W32 LPD emulation software as a printer session and my report are not printing. What do I do?
End the printer on the AS/400 by typing ENDWTR on the selection of command line and press the enter key. This will stop the printer on the AS/400 from printing reports. Next end the mocha W32 LPD emulation software by moving the pointer to the mocha W32 LPD icon on the task bar and right click. Then click exit. This will end the W32 LPD emulation program. Then type CHGOUTQ on the selection or command line and press the enter key. This will start the printer on the AS/400 ready to print reports. Then find your printer icon on the desktop of your PC and double click to start the W32 LPD emulation program. Reports should start to print.

My reports will not print I have no messages and my printer is connected to a maple or ibm base. What do I do?
Goto W1 session. Go into console mode. Type D P then press the enter key. Take option 7- control spool writer. Look atthe printer ID column to find the printer that is not printing then look at the status column. If the printer is stopped then take the option to start the spool writer. Enter the printer ID and press the enter key. This should start your report printing.
Spare Parts
A machine has not been received from our supplier. I would like to organise spare parts to be used on this machine and have them ready in a holding bay for when the machine is received from our supplier. What do I do?
The workshop department is responsible for ensuring that parts are available for a machine to be serviced or repaired in the workshop. The workshop department is required to raise a Jobcard for this machine using the stock number as a machine ID. Once the Jobcard has been raised the spare parts department can then raise a spare parts invoice for parts required to complete the Job in the workshop quoting the jobcard number on the spare parts invoice.
I would like to sell a parts that we will never carry in stock. What do I do?
This is commonly call a non-stocked item. The spare parts invoicing program will allow you to sell any non-stocked Items. You must supply all the relevant details at the time of sale.

Can I raise an order for a machine? What do I do?
If you are ordering a machine from a supplier for a customer you can goto the Order and Receive New/Used/Consignment programs and enter as much detail as you can. It doesn't matter if you do not have a serial/vin number or the engine number at that stage what matters is giving the machine a stock number.
I have a stock number for the machine but I would like to prepare for pre-delivery of the machine fot the customer even though the machine has not been received from our supplier. Can I do this?
In order to prepare for a pre-delivery of a machine for a customer a Jobcard will be needed. You will have to ask the person responsible for raising Jobcards to raise a Jobcard with the stock number allocated for this machine.
I have printed all my reports for the week. What do I do now?
Once you have printed all your reports for the week you can take the option to run a weekend flag. This option flags all invoicing records for machine not to print these invoicing records on reports for the following week.

Once you have printed all your reports for the month you can take the option to run a monthend flag. This option flags all invoicing records for machine not to print these invoicing records on reports for the following month.
